Job Offer: Java - XML developer
Synclude (Brussels office) are seeking a professional software developer with experience in Java and XML technologies.
Tasks
- Participate in software design and programming (visit the software section on our Web site for more information);
- Propose and implement improvements to our software: (re)design ideas, new functionalities;
- Follow-up IT trends to identify opportunities related to our core business;
- Assist clients on site or remotely in exploiting the full potential of our software;
- 1st and 2nd-line client support (bug corrections, testing);
Profile
- Computer Science graduate or equivalent by relevant work experience;
- You have some professional experience in object oriented programming and design, or you are recently graduated and you have worked on original academic projects or internships;
- You have some experience in some of the technologies and concepts below (we don't expect anyone to know them all!).
- Most importantly, you would definitely be interested in learning most of them.
Core technical skills
These are technologies that we use quite often. You should have good knowledge of a few technologies among the following:
- Java 6 language, standard libraries (collections, threads…);
- JSP, Servlet, Spring, Struts, Tomcat;
- Eclipse IDE;
- XML, DTD, W3C XML Schema;
- XML DOM, SAX programming;
- XSLT, XPath;
- HTML, CSS, Javascript;
- Subversion;
- Linux.
"Nice-to-have" technical skills
We also use or plan to use the following technologies and concepts. You should have used, in a professional or personal project, a few technologies and concepts among the following:
- Project/development methodologies (XP, UML/RUP, for instance);
- J2EE, Castor, Hibernate, Web development framework;
- AJAX, SOAP, WSDL;
- Eclipse plug-in development;
- XSL-FO, XForms, XQuery, XML databases, Schematron;
- Docbook, DITA;
- SVG, GML, WFS, WMS;
- Open Source Software development;
- Other operating systems.
Aviation-specific skills
We make extensive use of the following technologies and concepts, which are very specific to our domain of activity. The rare candidates (if any) who have experience with them will have a strong advantage.
- Aeronautical Information Service (AIS) and Management (AIM);
- ICAO Annex 15;
- Eurocae Documents ED76 and ED77;
- EUROCONTROL specifications: eAIP, AIXM 4.5, AIXM 5, SDP;
- EAD, ESI, ENA box.
