Job Offer: Junior Java - XML developer
We are seeking a young professional software developer. The selected candidate will be coached by a senior developer.
Tasks
- Participate in software design and programming (visit the software section on our Web site for more information);
- Propose and implement improvements to our software: (re)design ideas, new functionalities;
- Follow-up IT trends to identify opportunities related to our core business;
- Assist clients on site or remotely in exploiting the full potentital of our software;
- 1st and 2nd-line client support (bug corrections, testing);
Ideal Profile
- Computer Science graduate/student (or other cursus with advanced programming classes);
- Any professional experience in object oriented programming is welcome, as are original academic projects;
Core technical skills
You must have (at least) basic knowledge of some of the following technologies
- Java 1.5 language, standard libraries (collections, threads, reflection…);
- JSP, Servlet, Struts, Tomcat;
- Eclipse, Netbeans;
- XML, DTD, W3C XML Schema;
- XML DOM, SAX programming;
- XSLT, XPath;
- HTML, CSS, Javascript;
- CVS, SVN or another versionning system.
"Nice-to-have" technical skills
Any knowledge of any of the following would be an advantage:
- Project/development methodologies (XP, UML/RUP, for instance);
- J2EE, Castor, Hibernate, Web development framework, AJAX;
- Eclipse plug-in development;
- XSL-FO, XForms, Schematron;
- Docbook;
- SVG;
- Open Source Software development.
- Some knowledge of other operating systems.
