Electronic AIP Services
Synclude, in collaboration with EUROCONTROL and our partner Moltek Consultants, is currently developing the electronic AIP Specification. The Specification is owned and published by EUROCONTROL and all details about it can be found on their eAIP Web site.
Our in-depth knowledge of the eAIP Specification, combined with our experience in the technologies involved, allows us to offer to our clients the best support available for migration to a fully-electronic aeronautical information production system.
If you have begun work on an eAIP, you might be interested in our eAIP sidebar, available for free on Synclude.org, and our eAIP products: eAIPDiff, eAIP Publisher and GroupVerve AIS.
eAIP Migration
As part of the electronic AIP pilot project initiated by EUROCONTROL, Synclude supports 5 european AIS organisations in their migration to the eAIP. Our experience with organisations as different as Belgocontrol (Belgium), CAA Slovenia, LVNL (The Netherlands), ENAV (Italy) and AFSBw (German Air Force) enables us to offer a safe and seamless migration path, which we adapt to each organisation's specific culture and objectives.
We specifically offer the following services, as needed:
- eAIP training: for users, editors and developers;
- eAIP formatting: customisation of HTML and PDF presentation, and other usage of AIP information;
- Technology advice: assistance in selecting, installing and managing hardware, COTS software (including Open Source) and networking;
- Software development: conversion of existing data to eAIP format, workflow management and versioning, information systems integration;
- AIS database: custom development and EAD-derived;
- Developer support/coaching, competence transfer: for IT departments and AIS technology providers.

eAIP Software
In order to produce or use an eAIP, one needs to be proficient in several XML technologies (XSLT, XSL-FO, SVG, XHTML). Because these technologies are Open Standards, designed by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), many tools exist on the market to manipulate them. Moreover, many of these tools are Open Source Software. And this is good news for the AIS sector.
